Google recently launched a welcome page for it's new 'Helpouts by Google' product. The tool is designed to help consumers and "experts" connect through paid online video. As this is Google's first public acknowledgement of Helpouts' existence, few details about how the tool will be positioned were available until now. Here is what I think is the most important information from Google's launch page:
Rdio recently updated its 'Stations' tool, which is a clear shot across Pandora's & the rest of the streaming music industry's bow. Just like Apple's iRadio, Rdio is looking to improve by offering a passive listening experience similar to the one that made Pandora a consumer favorite. This is an important change, as the passive listening experience allows consumers to pick one song/station to start an ongoing stream of music. Traditionally Rdio, Spotify & other all-you-can-eat subscriptions have asked listeners to continuously curate to listen keep the good tunes rolling. In other words, before this feature, you had to constantly select the song you wanted to hear.
I'm a self-admitted Apple hardware junkie and long time iPhone sporter (Disclaimer: I am also an Apple stockholder, which was cooler two years ago than it is now). Republishing a blog that got lost in my transfer from my Wordpress.org to .com blog. Since my roommate bought this game it has pretty much consumed my social life. While pathetic, Rock Band has inspired me to put together the list of guitar tabs from the game.
Early in my career, I worked for eBay -- a +13,000 person tech company. While big companies can be latent with bureaucracy, there are also benefits that smaller companies always desire. It's not all about great brand recognition, seemingly unlimited resources. There's a great tradition of messing up someone else's cubicle on their birthday.

In addition to mix distribution, depending on the level of interest in the group, the book club type thing is always an option.
